Food Recovery and Distribution Programs in Southern California
Helping Hands Society of Los Angeles delivers essential resources through a range of food recovery and distribution programs across Southern California. These programs are designed to fight hunger, restore dignity, and strengthen communities locally and beyond.
iFeed Food Program
The iFeed Food Program supports nonprofit organizations, churches, and community groups by providing large-scale food distributions to help families facing food insecurity. Through this program, Helping Hands Society of Los Angeles serves communities in over 35 cities across Los Angeles County, as well as select areas in San Bernardino and Riverside Counties.
Each iFeed distribution typically consists of 4–5 pallets per load (volume may vary) with an average weight of approximately 2,500 pounds. Loads include a mix of perishable and nonperishable food items, depending on availability and donor contributions. While contents are not guaranteed for every pickup or delivery, items may include:
-
Dairy products
-
Fresh produce
-
Fruits
-
Snacks
-
Bread
-
Protein items such as beef, poultry, or fish

Through one food load, partner agencies can help provide nourishment to dozens of families, depending on the size of boxes or bags distributed.
For organizations unable to pick up food directly, delivery services may be available based on location and scheduling capacity. Administrative fees and delivery details vary; please contact our office directly for current information and to discuss your organization’s needs.

To participate in the iFeed Food Program, organizations must:
